This Editorial Policy explains how LifestyleCheck creates, reviews, and maintains its quizzes and articles, and the standards we hold ourselves to as a lifestyle publication.
Our editorial purpose
LifestyleCheck publishes lifestyle content — quizzes and articles — for general informational and educational purposes. Our goal is to help readers reflect on everyday habits (daily routines, money, productivity, travel, home organization, shopping, sustainability, work-life balance, personal development, and digital wellbeing) and consider practical, realistic ways to adjust them. Nothing we publish is intended as individualized medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice.
Content standards
All content published on LifestyleCheck must meet the following standards before it goes live:
- Original. All quizzes and articles are written in-house by our editorial team. We do not publish scraped, copied, or spun content from other websites.
- Accurate and grounded. Claims are based on general, widely accepted knowledge about habits, organization, and everyday behavior. We avoid sensational, exaggerated, or unsupported claims.
- Non-diagnostic. Quiz results describe patterns in a reader’s answers and offer general, practical suggestions. They never claim to diagnose a medical condition (physical or mental health), a psychological disorder, or a specific financial situation.
- Free of clickbait. Titles and headlines describe what the content actually covers. We do not use misleading headlines, exaggerated claims, or manufactured urgency to drive clicks.
- Genuinely useful on its own. Every article is written to provide real value independently, whether or not a reader has taken a related quiz.
Quiz methodology
Our quizzes are built from real, observable everyday behaviors, not abstract or sensational premises. Each quiz uses a simple, transparent scoring approach: every answer choice has a defined point value, and total scores map to one of four descriptive result tiers. Result language is deliberately framed around what a reader “may benefit from,” never a definitive claim about who they are or what condition they have.
Review process
Before publication, each piece of content — quiz or article — is reviewed by a senior editor for:
- Accuracy and clarity of language
- Absence of medical, psychological, or financial diagnostic claims
- Genuine practical usefulness to a general reader
- Consistency with our house style and formatting standards
Corrections
If a reader identifies an error, an outdated recommendation, or a piece of unclear language in any of our content, we welcome that feedback via our Contact page. Verified corrections are made promptly, and where a correction is substantial, we note the update date on the affected page.
Advertising and editorial independence
Where LifestyleCheck displays advertising, ad placements are kept visually and structurally separate from our editorial content. Advertising has no influence over quiz design, article topics, or the substance of what we publish. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage, and any sponsored or affiliate content, if published in the future, would be clearly labeled as such.
